Why Invest in TLC?
TLC is a regional authority on land conservation.
Triangle Land Conservancy has earned this reputation through consensus building, collaboration, and achieving tangible results.
We have done this while acknowledging and working to address the impact of systemic racism in the history of land ownership and conservation. We will continue this work to ensure that everyone has access to green spaces, clean water, fresh air, land ownership opportunities, nutritious food, and the many other benefits of nature.
Through the tremendous support of donors and partners, TLC has:
- Permanently protected more than 27,000 acres since 1983.
- Safeguarded nearly 6,000 critical Natural Heritage Areas, over 300 miles of stream, and 3,500 acres of floodplain that support important wildlife habitat and stream corridors.
- Restored 100s of acres of forests, meadows, and streams.
- Protected 21,416 acres of forest which has sequestered an estimated 1.7 million metric tons of carbon.
- Conserved and opened 8 nature preserves on 2,447 acres.
- Built and manages 58 miles of trails that host over 150,000 people per year.
- Secured and monitored 206 easements on 12,016 acres.
- Inspired 3,200+ people of all ages each year with educational programs that help everyone feel welcome outdoors.
